Sometimes you see an interesting pattern, or texture, or a burst of color, and it's more about that than the subject. Frequently it evokes a stronger feeling than a ready-made subject, because it's hidden in plain view, yet you still see it. I always ask, right before I grab the camera: Am I good enough to capture it? Do I have the right gear? Oh well — let's try anyway.
