I had never seen a rainbow at sunrise in the fog, so when I first noticed those intense colors hidden behind the curtain of mist, I had no idea what I was looking at. Could it be the northern lights, even with so much morning light?
I kept driving because I was heading straight toward the colors, and as the sun climbed higher, the rainbow slowly began to reveal itself. I scanned for traffic and searched for a safe place to pull over, frame the shot, and take a proper photo.
I was lucky enough to catch this version of what I later learned is called the Belt of Venus phenomenon.
